Periodic table extreme makeover?
Posted on | July 20, 2005 | No Comments
So after over 100 years, they want to change the periodic table?
Philip Steward has modeled his new periodic after a galaxy. It allows for related elements (ie. Neon and Sodium) to appear next to each other, rather then opposite sides fo the table. The table aslo takes Neutronium (Element Zero) into consideration, the element without atoms.
I think the concept is a good one. Linking simular elements and logically linking elements by location. Lets just hope the galaxy look doesn’t confuse school kids. I mean, I remember the table was already hard enough to memorize.
Overall change is good…
