Padres drop game 2 & 3…
Posted on | October 9, 2005 | No Comments
Well the playoff team with 2 games over .500 has fallen to the National League Champions from last year. The Padres never could get the runs scored they needed. They seemed to take advantage of the Cardinals bull pen scoring the majority of they runs in the 6th, 7th 8th and 9th innings.
The padres played mediocre each of the games and failed to take advantage of key opportunities with runners in scoring position.
Another sad note… Trevor Hoffman pitched the 9th inning as if in a save situation. This may be his last time playing in a Padres uniform, as he is going to the free agent market in the off-season. The same goes for Ramon Hernandez.
The Padres need to secure good players and try and pick up some big bats in the off-season so they can take advantage of the weakened NL West again.
Until then… go Halos…
