Padres Opening Day
Posted on | April 3, 2006 | No Comments
What an opening day… Petco Park was packed to an overflow capacity. Most opening days are packed but with Barry Bonds and the Giants in town the media circus followed.
Grant, Erin, Whitney and I took in the 9 inning, enjoying the boo’s, home-made signs and heckling that was the Bonds fan-fair. The pathetic Giants fans that were in attendance, supported their players blindly. Grant and I printed several asterisks for the us to hold up. At one point we were 25 ft. from Bonds in the outfield. There were several camera crews in the area, and what appears to be a documentary crew following one guy with a boycottbarry.com t-shirt. At this point we were a deck below the Green home run.
Peavy, Piazza and Green took the spotlight away from Bonds… well for the most part. Over all it was great game. Pad win it 6-1
